Nigerian striker David Okereke ended his five-game goal drought with a dramatic 94th-minute strike in Gaziantep’s 3-1 victory over 10-man Eyupspor on Monday in a Turkish Super Lig clash.
Emmanuel Boateng netted a brace for Gaziantep, scoring in the 52nd and 78th minutes, while Tayfur Bingöl pulled one back for Eyupspor in the 65th minute. Okereke sealed the win deep into stoppage time, making it 3-1, but the drama continued as Eyupspor’s substitute, Caner Erkin, was sent off in the 99th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
Okereke’s goal takes his tally to seven in 19 Turkish Super Lig appearances, marking the end of his five-game scoring drought. The Nigerian forward had last found the net on January 12, when his strike secured a 1-0 win over Adana Demirspor.

With this victory, Gaziantep climbed to 10th in the league standings. The 27-year-old Okereke will now be hoping his goal sparks a run of consistency for both himself and his team.
Despite his goal drought, Okereke remains the club’s top scorer with seven goals followed by Deian Sorescu on five league goals.
