Alex Iwobi scored a goal and provided an assist to inspire Fulham to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool at Craven Cottage, ending the Reds’ 26-game unbeaten run in the league.

Liverpool made a bright start as Alexis Mac Allister fired the visitors ahead in the 14th minute. However, Fulham responded in spectacular fashion, producing one of the season’s biggest upsets by netting three goals in just 14 minutes to flip the game on its head.

Ryan Sessegnon leveled the score in the 23rd minute, before Iwobi capitalized on a defensive blunder to put Fulham in front in the 32nd minute. The Nigerian midfielder then turned provider, setting up Rodrigo Muniz for what would become the winning goal just five minutes later.

Luis Díaz pulled one back for Liverpool in the 72nd minute, sparking a wave of late pressure from the visitors. But Fulham’s resolute defending ensured the Reds couldn’t find an equalizer, securing a memorable win for Marco Silva’s side.

This marks the first time Liverpool have conceded three first-half goals in a Premier League match since their infamous 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa in October 2020.

The defeat is just the second league loss for Arne Slot’s men this season. Despite the setback, Liverpool remain 11 points clear of Arsenal, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton on Saturday.

With seven games left in the campaign, the Reds are still in a strong position to clinch the title, but this result serves as a reminder that nothing is guaranteed in the Premier League.

The goal takes his tally of the season to eight goals in 31 appearances while he’s also contributed five assists. The win also increased their chances of booking a spot to play in Europe next season.
