Flying Eagles coach Zubairu unveils 20-man squad for WAFU B tournament

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles Head coach Aliyu Zubairu has named a 20-man squad ahead of the upcoming WAFU B U20 Boys Tournament set to be held in Ghana, Bold Sports reports.

Captain Daniel Bameyi, who led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, headlines the squad. Also included is 15-year-old goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt, the teenage sensation who recently received a Super Eagles B call-up from coach Eric Chelle.

The squad also features emerging talents such as Odinaka Okoro, Ahmed Akinyele, Divine Oliseh, Bidemi Amole, Abdullahi Muhammed, and Imrana Muhammad.

After weeks of intensive preparations in Abuja, the Flying Eagles have now arrived in Ghana and begun training in Accra as they gear up for the regional competition.

The WAFU B U20 Tournament is scheduled to run from July 10 to 23. Nigeria has been placed in Group A and will open their campaign against hosts Ghana on July 10, followed by a clash with Benin Republic on July 13.
