Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu unveils 24-man squad for U20 AFCON

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has unveiled a 24-man squad for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations which will take place from 27 April to 18 May, 2025 in Egypt.

The seven-time African champions and two-time World Cup runners-up will leave Nigeria for Egypt on Sunday before playing some friendly matches prior to their first game against former winners Tunisia in Cairo on Thursday, May 1.

Three days after their opening game, the Flying Eagles will face off against Morocco before rounding off their group stage fixtures against Kenya on Wednesday, May 7.

The Flying Eagles will be eager to qualify from the group stage, sealing their spot as one of the four semi-finalists who will earn tickets to represent Africa at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

They will also be determined to win the competition in order to end a four-tournament trophy drought, becoming the African champions for the first time since their 2015 triumph over Senegal.
