Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have arrived in the city of Ismailia, ahead of their CAF U-20 African Cup of Nations quarter-final clash which will take place on Monday, May 12.
The Flying Eagles advanced to the quarter-finals after battling to a 2-2 draw with Kenya in their final group game, knocking out the East Africans who finished in fourth place.
Prior to that, Nigeria had secured a win over Tunisia’s Junior Carthage Eagles and earned a draw against Morocco, giving them five points and placing them second in the group standings.

As revealed by the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), Nigeria’s quarter-final clash is scheduled to take place at the Suez Canal Stadium and the team’s possible opponents will be confirmed after the final round of Group C matches today.
Nigeria could potentially face their West African rivals, Ghana, who are currently second in Group C with four points from two games. The Black Satellites are set to play against the Central African Republic at the Suez Canal Stadium this evening and need at least a draw to secure a spot in the next round.
As the quarter-final approaches, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will be looking to book a place in the semi-finals — a key achievement that would also earn them a ticket to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, slated to take place in Chile from 27 September to 19 October 2025.
