Mbaoma’s goals helped Enyimba secure a CAF Confederation Cup ticket ahead of Shooting Stars of Ibadan, while Alimi’s goals proved crucial for Remo who secured their second consecutive CAF Champions League berth.

Both players went into the final game of the season with 16 and 15 goals, respectively, but despite Remo Stars winning 2-1 against Katsina United, Alimi failed to increase his tally.

Despite hitting the woodwork three times in the first half, Mbaoma would not be denied as he gave the hosts the lead in the 78yh minute against stubborn Plateau United in Aba.

The Golden Boot award is sponsored by Eunisell, and each league goal is worth N200,000
