Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis had a bad day at the office, receiving a red card as Blackburn narrowly avoided a home loss to Norwich in their Championship clash on Saturday.

Blackburn desperately needed a win after their 3-0 loss to Swansea, which had hindered their promotion prospects. They faced a Norwich side that had been in good form, with only one loss in their last five games.

Motivated by their form in recent weeks, Norwich dominated the first half, but Blackburn’s resilient defense prevented them from scoring. Despite their dominance, the away side failed to create clear-cut chances, and the scoreline remained level at halftime.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Norwich controlling the game but struggling to create meaningful opportunities. Emmanuel Dennis was introduced in the 62nd minute as Blackburn sought to turn things around, however his impact was short-lived, as he received a yellow card five minutes after coming on and then a red card in the 85th minute.

Norwich capitalized on their numerical advantage, scoring in the 90th minute through Ante Crnac. However, their lead was brief, as Andreas Weimann equalized six minutes later, securing a draw for Blackburn in dramatic style.

The result leaves Blackburn with 52 points from 35 games, with goal difference separating them from West Brom who occupy sixth position on the table. On the other hand, Norwich remain 10th with 48 points, 4 points away from the promotion playoff spot.

Blackburn’s next challenge is a trip to Derby County seeking to finally secure victory, while Norwich host Oxford United, eager to earn a win to improve their position on the table.
