Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi scored his eighth goal of the season, helping Viktoria Plzen come from behind to secure a thrilling 4-2 win over Dukla Praha at the Doosan Arena on Saturday.

Viktoria Plzen entered the match as strong favourites, having remained unbeaten against Dukla Praha since 2015. However, the visitors caused an early upset, taking the lead in just the fourth minute through a goal from Martin Ambler.

The home side responded swiftly, with Cadu scoring the equaliser just six minutes after falling behind before Rafiu Durosinmi found the net in the 33rd minute, putting Viktoria Plzen ahead before the break.

The Nigerian forward was substituted in the 68th minute, but the hosts extended their lead with goals from Lukas Kalvach and Matej Vydra. Although Jhon Mosquera pulled one back late on to make it 4-2, Viktoria Plzen had already wrapped up the victory, claiming all three points in front of their home fans.

The victory secured Viktoria Plzen a second-place finish heading into the Championship playoffs, where they will now compete for the league title against Slavia Prague, Banik Ostrava, Sparta Prague, Jablonec, and Sigma Olomouc.

Rafiu Durosinmi will be looking to maintain his strong form in the Championship playoffs. The 22-year-old has now recorded eight goals and four assists in 16 appearances, playing a key role in Viktoria Plzen’s push to win the league title for the first time since 2022.
