Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was the game-changer for AC Milan, coming on as a substitute to provide an assist as the Rossoneri fought back to secure a crucial 3-1 win over Bologna, keeping their European qualification hopes alive.
Due to limited playing time in recent months, Samuel Chukwueze had only contributed two goals for AC Milan this year, netting against Parma in January and Lazio in March.
However, the Nigerian winger made a significant impact against Bologna, coming on in the 65th minute to provide his first league assist of the season and his second in all competitions, as Santiago Gimenez scored his second goal of the night to seal the crucial 3-1 victory.

In addition to his assist, Samuel Chukwueze’s introduction marked the turning point in AC Milan’s comeback. The team was trailing 1-0 after Riccardo Orsolini’s goal in the 49th minute, but head coach Sergio Conceicao made key substitutions, bringing on Kyle Walker, Santiago Gimenez, and Chukwueze to turn the game around.
Less than 10 minutes after their introduction, Chukwueze’s deflected cross found Christian Pulisic, who then set up Santiago Gimenez for Milan’s equaliser. Shortly after the leveler, Pulisic scored again to complete the turnaround, helping Milan secure a league-leading 22 points from losing positions this season.
The victory saw Milan climb to eighth in the Serie A standings with 60 points, just three behind fourth-placed Juventus. Meanwhile, Bologna remain in seventh position with 62 points from 36 games.
With Milan’s next clash coming up against Bologna once again in the Coppa Italia Final, Samuel Chukwueze will be eager to build on his impactful performance by helping to secure the Rossoneri’s first Coppa Italia trophy since the 2002-03 season.
