Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has made some significant selections for his first 39-man provisional squad, recalling Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa and handing debut call-ups to in-form striker Tolu Arokodare and Chrisantus Uche ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda on March 21, followed by a clash with Zimbabwe on March 25. These two matches are crucial for Nigeria’s World Cup qualification hopes, and the team will be aiming to secure consecutive victories to boost their chances.
The most notable inclusion in the squad is undoubtedly Ahmed Musa, Nigeria’s most capped player. Musa has been absent from the team since the 2023 AFCON, where he didn’t make an appearance off the bench. His return to the squad is a significant development, and fans will be eager to see him back in action.
Tolu Arokodare’s impressive form in Belgium has earned him a well-deserved call-up to the Super Eagles. With 16 league goals to his name, Arokodare will be hoping to replicate his club success on the international stage and make a meaningful contribution to Nigeria’s World Cup qualification bid.
Another player who has caught the attention of coach Eric Chelle is Chrisantus Uche, who has been performing exceptionally well for Getafe in La Liga. Uche’s inclusion in the squad is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and he will be looking to make a positive impact for the Super Eagles.
