Ese Brume continued her consistent show in international events, winning the gold medal in the women’s long jump of the ongoing 13th African Games in Ghana on Thursday.

The African record holder leaped a distance of 6.92m in her first jump to defend the title she won four years ago in Rabat, Morocco.

Burkina Faso’s Koala Marthe won the silver medal with a jump of 6.81m ahead of another Nigerian Ochonogor Prestina who won the silver medal with a jump of 6.67m.

Ruth Usoro’s 6.62m leap was not enough for her to add another medal to her collection after winning the triple jump gold medal as she could only settle for fourth position.

Just like the women’s long jump, Nigeria also won two medals in the women’s discus event.
