BREAKING: Eagles rise in FIFA ranking, now third-best in Africa

The Super Eagles moved up in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, rising to 32nd position in the world.

The ranking also ensured that the Eagles were ranked third-best country in Africa.

The Nigeria national team had crashed out in the Round of 16 of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after losing 1-0 to Tunisia.

They however won there three group games, defeating beaten finalist Egypt 1-0, Sudan 3-1 and Guinea-Bissau 2-0.

The Eagles were ranked 36th in the world and third in Africa at the last ranking released December 2021.

Senegal – AFCON winners – maintained their status as the best in Africa, moving up two places to 18th, while Morocco also maintained second position in the continent, moving up four places to be ranked 24th best in the world.
