Remo Stars owner Kunle Soname hinted that newly promoted Beyond Limits might sell their Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) slot.
This comes after rumors of interest from relegated clubs like Sporting Lagos and Heartland FC. Running two private teams in the league could be difficult, according to Soname.
While Soname supports Beyond Limits’ decision, whether to compete or sell, he emphasized that selling would involve a bidding process.
“For private entrepreneurs, football is a business, not charity,” Soname told reporters. “Beyond Limits’ management is evaluating their ability to handle the challenges of the top league, financially and otherwise.”
“If they’re up for it, they’ll play. Otherwise, they’ll have to explore other ways to capitalize on their achievement,” Soname concluded.
Beyond Limits emerged champions of the Nigeria National League after topping the table at the recently concluded NNL playoffs in Enugu.
