Arike Ogunbowale scored 19 points to lead the Dallas Wings to an 80–71 victory over the Golden State Valkyries, securing their second win of the 2025 WNBA season.

The victory was a much-needed one for the Wings, who came into the game on the back of seven consecutive losses. After starting the season with four straight defeats, their first win came against the Connecticut Sun in May, with Ogunbowale also scoring 19 points in that game. This latest result marks their first home win of the season.

In addition to her 19 points, Ogunbowale contributed five rebounds, six assists, and three steals in a standout all-around performance. Rookie Paige Bueckers added a game-high 20 points, along with four rebounds and two assists, while Kaila Charles chipped in 10 points off the bench.

Despite having four players score in double digits—Monique Billings (18), Kayla Thornton (17), Laeticia Amihere (14), and Tiffany Hayes (10)—the Valkyries couldn’t overcome the Wings’ intensity and fell short.

Reacting to the win, Ogunbowale praised her teammates for their resilience and defensive effort.

“Our fight,” Ogunbowale said. “They made their runs, and we responded. We didn’t let them keep going. Even when we weren’t scoring, we were getting stops and holding it down on defense. It was an all-around team effort.”
