Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, says the team is fully prepared and determined to win the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), but has also called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the players are properly motivated and supported.
Nigeria will be aiming for a historic 10th WAFCON title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025. The Super Falcons will have to dethrone the reigning champions, who are currently in fine form.
Placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana, the Falcons will open their campaign against Tunisia on July 6 at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

In recent weeks, several Super Falcons players have voiced their frustration over years of inadequate treatment by football authorities, urging the federation to create a more conducive environment that enables them to succeed on the continental stage.
Speaking on the team’s expectations for the tournament, Ajibade expressed the players’ eagerness to represent Nigeria and make history while also calling on the federation to give them 100% support.
“There’s a lot of confidence in camp and we’re committed to our goal. We all understand what’s at stake,” Ajibade said in an interview with the Super Falcons Show.

“Every player heading to the tournament wants to compete and win. We will give everything on the pitch, but we also know that success depends on both internal and external factors.”
“We’ll continue to do our part as players, but we hope everything behind the scenes is properly handled to help us perform at our best and ultimately bring the trophy home.”
