Super Eagles and Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman has been rated as the best player in the Serie A this season according to football statistics website WhoScored.
After a remarkable season which saw him claim the African best player award and clinch a spot in the Ballon D’or top 30, Ademola Lookman has continued his impressive rise, already scoring more goals (18) than he did last season (17) while delivering six assists.
In the Serie A, Lookman has been one of the best players for an Atalanta side that are seeking to make history by lifting the league for the first time ever. The Nigerian winger has scored 13 league goals and contributed six assists, the second best in each category for Atalanta.
Lookman was also recently recognized for his skillful finish against Empoli in a 5-0 win for Gasperini’s men, winning Atalanta’s goal of the month. His consistent performances has earned him a 7.37 rating on WhoScored, better than any other player in the Serie A this season.

The rest of the top five highest rated players in the Serie A according to WhoScored include Inter Milan attacking duo Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui and Inter Milan’s experienced midfield maestro, Hakan Çalhanoglu.

Ademola Lookman and Atalanta will return to action with a trip to Fiorentina on Sunday, March 30. In order to keep their title hopes alive, a win is needed and Gian Piero Gasperini will be hoping his top players can deliver once again.
