Twelve-time Swedish champions AIK Stockholm have finalised the signing of highly-rated Nigerian talent Zadok Yohanna from Ikon Allah Football Academy, located in Kaduna, Bold Sports reports.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until December 31, 2029, and has been handed the number 36 jersey.
In a statement released by the club, AIK confirmed that Zadok had already been in Sweden for the past month, training with the P19 side of AIK Ungdomsfotboll.
During this period, he featured in a training match for the P19 team against IF Brommapojkarna’s youth side. Zadok started the game and made an instant impact by scoring his first goal for the club in the opening half.
Speaking on the signing, AIK Football’s Head of Scouting and Recruitment, Fredrik Wisur Hansen, said: “Zadok is a Nigerian player who can play on either wing or the ten position. It was AIK Youth Football’s Scout & Recruitment Manager, Herish Sadi, who discovered Zadok during a scouting trip earlier this year.”

“He has an impressive list of strengths, including his dribbling, close-range technique, outstanding 1-on-1 ability and a sensitive left foot. We are very excited to follow his development with us,” he added.
Zadok also shared his excitement about the new chapter in his career: “It is an incredible feeling to sign my first professional contract with such a big club as AIK. I have received a warm welcome from everyone at the club and now I look forward to continuing to develop and contribute on the pitch.”

AIK are currently in the middle of their league campaign, sitting third on the table with 27 points — just three points behind leaders Mjällby. The club also has a UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying fixture against either Bruno’s Magpies or Paide Linnameeskond, scheduled for July 24 and 31.
The young midfielder will thus set his sights on settling into his new surroundings as he hopes to help AIK push for their first league title since 2018, while also potentially featuring in European football in his debut season.
